MUKHA Sharing & Learning Virtual Event

MUKHA first virtual event was held on the 12th December 2020. Permanent Secretary of the MoHS and Chair of MUKHA, Dr. Thet Khaing Win gave an opening speech. The objectives of the event were;
1. To increase the visibility of the Alliance and raise awareness about its offering
2. To engage Burmese diaspora to better understand their priorities and ability to lead/ champion health partnership work in the UK

Myanmar UK Health Alliance Diaspora Engagement Event

Following the first and second Myanmar Diaspora event in 2017 and January 2019, Health Education England (HEE) and the Tropical Health and Education Trust (THET) hosted a third full day event on 28th September 2019. The main objectives of the day were to provide an opportunity for individuals engaged in the Myanmar UK Health Alliance (MUKHA) and other members of the Burmese diaspora in the UK to network and receive updates on the progress of MUKHA and the recent partnership work. There were two groupwork sessions held to allow time for attendees to feed into the future of MUKHA including on what should be improved and implemented to better serve engaged diaspora and partners in Myanmar.

Myanmar UK Health Alliance (MUKHA) Diaspora Engagement Event

This MUKHA Diaspora Engagement meeting, jointly hosted by HEE and THET, was held for the second time to provide an opportunity of networking and updating the progress of MUKHA in Myanmar to a wider group of UK stakeholders engaged in health in Myanmar together with Burmese diaspora.

THET Sharing and Learning Event 2018

With the 2017 year ending approaching, THET Myanmar brought all (both UK and Myanmar) stakeholders from three health partnership projects funded by THET in Myanmar in 2017. The objectives of this “Sharing & Learning” event were to share the working experiences from different projects, to learn how thematic challenges across all projects were tackled and to explore the understanding and embedment of partnerships principles in reality for future stronger collaboration.

Myanmar UK Health Alliance Stakeholder Meeting

This meeting brought together 53 participants from universities and health facilities across Myanmar, the Ministry of Health and Sports, professional associations and councils, DFID, and diaspora from the UK. The opening speech was given by Professor Ged Byrne, Director of Global Engagement, Health Education England and followed by afternoon session with Diaspora engagement in Myanmar Healthcare Workshop.
